How to Overcome the Thoughts in Your Head

Do you have thoughts that you can’t shake loose? I find it useful to take out my journal or laptop, and just write it out. Get the thoughts out of your head and on paper. I like to set a timer for 10 minutes and write until I feel clarity. Occasionally I’ll have to write for 20 minutes.

This almost always works for me. At the end of my writing, I feel a release from the thoughts that had me under their control. I don’t always remember to do it. But when I do, I usually feel much better.

This will help me to have whatever conversation I need to have, or just move on to something more productive than being lost in thought. Give it a try.
