I Had a Good Sunday

This past Sunday was one for the books. It was productive, and kind of relaxing. What I love most about it is that my activities were varied and left me with a feeling of accomplishment. Below are a few of the highlights from the day.

As much as I enjoy writing, most of my writing over the past couple of years has mainly consisted of journaling for usually around 15 minutes per day. This past Sunday I wrote for an hour. I also wrote at a nearby coffee shop, which is something that I rarely do lately. Prior to the pandemic and the mandatory quarantine, I would often hang out in coffee shops. I would go there to read, study, write, or just meet up with friends. This past weekend, I was able to reconnect with my past time of hanging out in coffee shops, and my passion for writing.

The day also involved me listening to a new audiobook about how to be a good birth partner. The book was written by a male doula and is written specifically as a guide for soon-to-be fathers and those who are not giving birth. As I write this, my wife is 39 weeks pregnant, and she could honestly go into labor any minute now. This is both exciting and scary. We’ve done plenty of classes to prepare, but I’m still feeling like I don’t know enough. So far, this book is helping me to make those final preparations. It’s also…
