Our CEO resigned yesterday, and it was tough to digest. It was the first time in my career that I’ve witnessed such a thing. Just weeks ago she was taking part in a staff dance-off for our social media. And now, she is no longer a part of the organization.
This type of change is never easy. It makes you wonder where the organization goes next.
The lesson here for myself, and anyone else going through a similar situation, is to focus on what you can control. Do your job. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the rumors and criticize everyone involved with what comes next, but that doesn’t really serve anyone. The best way to serve is to do your job and focus on what you can control.
