Spending Time in Nature

Finding time to unwind.

For the past few months, I’ve been on the grind and pretty much city bound. I’ve been doing my best to balance work with spending time outside. Most of my time outside has consisted of going for walks or runs in my neighborhood or nearby parks within the city. One thing that’s been missing is spending time in nature. I heard it said that spending time in nature is a great way to recharge and shift your emotional state. I believe there may be some truth to that.

This past weekend, I decided to go on a much-needed hike in the mountains. I hiked a trail that’s one of my favorites in the area and one that I haven’t been on in over a year. The picture below is from early in the hike.

During the hike, I was blown away by the vastness of nature, and its ability to help us slow down. Halfway through the hike, I reached a peak that provided a faint view of the city in the distance. See the picture below.
